Terms of use for experimenta gGmbH prepaid cards
1. General – Definition of terms
1.1 The following Terms of Use apply to the use of the prepaid cards issued by experimenta gGmbH, Experimenta-Platz, 74072 Heilbronn, Germany (hereinafter referred to as experimenta).
1.2 The following terms of use apply exclusively. Terms of use of the cardholder that contradict or deviate from these terms of use shall not be recognized unless experimenta expressly agrees to their validity in writing or in text form or the parties to the contract agree otherwise.
1.3 The cardholder within the meaning of these terms of use are either persons who have purchased a prepaid card or who have been given such a card.
1.4 The prepaid cards issued by experimenta are solely prepaid cards and their only purpose is the (in some cases partial) payment of the experimenta admission fee. Prepaid cards are issued with the requested amount of credit purchased. They can be topped up pursuant to the following terms of use. No fee is charged for use of the prepaid card.
1.5 Use within the meaning of these terms of use means use of the prepaid card, specifically use of the amount credited to the card, topping up with credit or checking the amount of credit.
1.6 The concepts used in these terms of use are gender-neutral.
2. Functions and use of the prepaid card
2.1 Prepaid cards can be purchased and used exclusively at experimenta, Experimenta-Platz, 74072 Heilbronn, Germany or in the experimenta online shop.
2.2 The credit on the prepaid card is exclusively to be redeemed for the purpose of paying the cost of admission to experimenta and is equivalent to the amount in Euros which was paid to be credited to the prepaid card, where applicable minus amounts already redeemed. experimenta reserves the right to exclude the redeeming of credited amounts for certain events or, in the case of cardholders who are minors, on the grounds of the protection of minors. experimenta reserves the right to refuse to redeem amounts credited to the prepaid card in individual cases if it is not possible due to a technical malfunction.
2.3 For a payment transaction using the prepaid card, the cardholder must present the prepaid card at the experimenta ticket desk or redeem it in the experimenta online shop.
The cardholder can check the amount credited to the prepaid card at the experimenta ticket desk or in the experimenta online shop during the topping up process.
2.4 Prepaid cards must show a credit amount for the purpose of paying the experimenta admission price. The maximum credited amount that can be redeemed is the amount credited to the prepaid card; no further credit is granted. The credited amount on the prepaid card is debited with the admission feed to be paid. The balance of the credited amount can be used for full or partial payment. A possible residual amount remains as credit on the prepaid card. The credit balance not used for payment may be used for other payments with the prepaid card.
If the balance of the prepaid card is not enough to fully pay for admission, the difference may be paid using a different means of payment which is accepted by experimenta for payment of the admission price.
2.5 The prepaid card can be topped up repeatedly at experimenta with an amount selected by the cardholder or topped up in the experimenta online shop. It is not possible to use another prepaid card for payment/ topping up.
The prepaid card must not be completely used up before it can be topped up. If a remaining credit is still on the card from the previous top up, it may be topped up with another amount.
2.6 The credit on the prepaid card may not be exchanged for cash. Remaining balances will not be refunded in cash.
2.7 The credit on the prepaid card does not earn interest.
2.8 Commercial resale of the prepaid card or trade with the prepaid card is prohibited
3. Transferability – Loss/ damage
3.1 The prepaid card is an impersonal and thus anonymous means of payment.
3.2 The prepaid card is transferable. The transferor is obligated to inform the new cardholder of the validity of these terms of use.
3.3 experimenta specifically has no obligation to check whether the cardholder of the prepaid card is also the person who purchased the prepaid card or a person to whom the prepaid card has been lawfully entrusted. experimenta is entitled to deem their obligation as discharged vis-a-vis the respective cardholder, regardless of whether the prepaid card was lawfully entrusted to said cardholder.
3.4 The prepaid card is to be treated like cash. In the event of loss, theft or damage, the prepaid card and the amount credited on it will not be replaced. It is not possible to block the prepaid card. experimenta is not liable for losses arising from unauthorized use and/ or payments.
4. Ownership – Withdrawal
4.1 experimenta remains the owner of the prepaid card.
4.2 If the credit on the prepaid card is zero Euros and the cardholder does not wish to top off the prepaid card with a credited amount, experimenta is entitled to retain the prepaid card.
5. Final terms
5.1 The experimenta house rules are to observed at all times. In addition, the General Terms and Conditions of experimenta gGmbH apply for the visit of the experimenta science center.
5.2 Information about online dispute resolution: The European Commission has an online dispute resolution platform on the internet (an ODR platform). The ODR platform is meant to serve as the point of contact for the solving of disputes outside of a court of law regarding contractual obligations arising from online purchase agreements or online service contracts. experimenta gGmbH is neither obligated nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
