Staff stories
Maud, Education department
“I am a freelance goldsmith and a facilitator in Museum education. I’ve been working for experimenta since November 2009 and am not the department head for elementary and primary school level labs as well as the Experimental Kitchen. When children thank me personally or write after the courses and leave experimenta with their eyes shining, I know that I contributed just a bit to communicating what is positive about STEM topics.”
Johan, Science Dome & Observatory
Michaela, Information Technology department
“Following my studies in Business Informatics specializing in Application Management at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Mosbach, I worked at a commercial enterprise in the region in IT before switching to experimenta. I got my first introduction to experimenta in December 2010 while working part time as a guide while going to college.”
Nina, Brand Management department
“Once I completed my dual education and training as a media designer for digital and print media, I went on to gain three and a half years of job experience at two companies in Hohenlohe. Because I at 23 had had enough of village life, I really wanted to get out into the big wide world and I couldn’t think of any city I’d rather be in than Heilbronn! And that’s how I wound up at experimenta. I started in April 2015.”
Daniel, Logistics department
Sandra, Bereich Besucherservice
“I’ve been working at experiment since September 2018 as supervisor in visitor services. That means that I am responsible for the smooth running of the daily doings at experiment and thus also act as the direct point of contact for all visitor chaperones and minders. Since we are open seven days per week, I work in a team with four other colleagues.”
Robert, MS experimenta / Event management
“I am a mechanical engineer. My thesis in college led me to technical documentation in the area of marketing. In my professional career, I have gained a lot of experience in the field of marketing: in organizing and staging large concerts and trade fairs, classic marketing work in a managing position or as an instructor for media designers during my time as the head of an agency. I have been working for experimenta since June 2012.”
Nadine, Visitor research / Evaluation
“I’ve been in the Visitor Research / Evaluation department at experiment since November 2019. What I like most is that I support my colleagues in the exhibition department, in marketing or visitor services with evaluations and can contribute my experience. We also do research in our department and study general questions regarding learning and attitudes that also affect other science centers and museums.”
